Athens, the Byzantine and Christian Museum

The Byzantine and Christian Museum of Athens, like its counterpart in Thessaloniki, is a stunning example of the high quality of Greek museum design.

The museum is a treasure for scholars of art history, religion, architecture and Byzantine culture. There are over 25,000 artifacts besides the regular and period exhibits. It also includes thousands of archives, including an impressive photographic archive.
